Students may wear jeans and a holiday shirt for $3. Money goes to support the PCA yearbook.
Monday December 22nd: Holiday Party
We are having our holiday party on the 22nd. Students are asked to bring in a snack to share. Our party will begin at 2:00. Parents are welcome to join!
Tuesday December 23rd: Hot Chocolate and a movie
First grade will be enjoying hot chocolate and a movie Tuesday afternoon. This is a reward for keeping our bathrooms clean. Way to go!

Up Coming Events
Book Orders:
December book orders are due Friday Dec. 5th. If you are ordering books please send the order forms with your child on Friday.
Loblolly Field trip:
Our trip to Loblolly Acres will be on Friday Dec. 12th. Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather. Also please have your child wear boots or sneakers.
Picture Make-ups:
If your child is having their picture re-taken the make-up day is Friday Dec. 12th.

Up coming events
Halloween
We will be participating in the school Halloween parade on Friday October 31st at 1:30. At 2:00 we will have a party in our classroom following the parade. Please send in treats for your child to share with the class. Please do not send any peanuts or peanut butter. If you are sending your child’s costume please make sure it is a costume that they can put on themselves. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun!
Book it
Starting in the month of November we will be participating in Book It. This is a program designed to get kids reading. If your child brings their reading log every week at the end of the month they will get a coupon for a free personal pizza. Keep reading!
Field Trips
We have our Wicked R Ranch field trip on Wednesday October 29th. Please dress your child in comfortable clothes and shoes. We also have a field trip scheduled for The DuPont Theater on November 24th. Permission slips and money are due October 30th.

Please continue to send box tops to school. The class that sends the most in gets a pizza party. The contest ends at the end of October.

PCA is having a Scholastic Book Fair the week of October 27th. Our class is scheduled to go on Monday October 27th in the morning. If you would like your child to purchase books please send money that morning.
Tutoring
First grade teachers are offering after school tutoring. If you feel your child would benefit from tutoring please fill out the form sent home earlier this week and send it in. Tutoring is one hour a week. If you already sent an interest form back you will be receiving more information soon.

Updates
Just a few updates...
On Thursday October 2nd a Delaware State University student will be coming to our classroom a few hours a week to work with the students. Information about these visits will be coming home today, Oct 1st.
The kindergarten and first grade classes have earned 10 stars in our bathroom contest. The students needed to keep the bathrooms clean for 10 days in order to win a prize. We did it! Our reward is a movie on Friday afternoon.
